Question: Is convenient lie better than seditious truth?
The Grand Ayatollah Makarem: If seditious truth results in mischief must be avoided. The benefits and losses of convenient lie must be compared and whichever is more important, that must be carried out. If it is possible instead of convenient lie, must opt for Toriyeh (sayings which in appearance agree with the listener but the speaker means something else).
