SHAFAQNA – Usury is Haram (forbidden) in all Divine religions and definite punishments have been promised in the holy Quran by the Supreme Being for all those who engage in this Haram act. Ayah 161 of Surah Al-Nesa says: “That they took usury, although they were forbidden, and that they devoured other people’s assets and possessions wrongfully. God has prepared for unbelievers among them a grievous punishment.”
