SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about taking possession of assets from adult children by a father.
Question: How much a father is allowed to take possession of his adult independent child’s assets? And if he (the father) takes possession of something that he is not allowed, is he (the father) liable for it?
The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: The father is not allowed to take possession of his wise and adult child’s assets unless with the child’s permission; and taking possession of assets without child’s permission is Haram and the father is liable, except in exceptional circumstances.
