The Grand Ayatollah Shahroodi answered questions about verbal expression of love.
Question:
- Is expressing love without lust from the boy towards the girl and vice-versa Haram?
2. Is verbal expression of love by observing all religious rules and having 100% intention for marriage, Haram?
The Grand Ayatollah Shahroodi:
- Such cases lead to Haram and are not allowed between non-Mahrams.
2. If it does not lead to another Haram such as being alone with the non-Mahram, or committing sins by looking at non-Mahram, or any other corrupt act, then it is allowed.
