SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani answered a question about using Zakat al-Fitr for cultural groups in Mosques.
Question: Can the collected Zakat al-Fitr be used for the expenses of cultural and artistic groups in Mosques (to arrange classes for scientific, religious and other purposes)?
The Grand Ayatollah Vahid: The Wajeb precaution is that Zakat al-Fitr is paid to the poor and must be Shia Athna Ashar, otherwise if a believer caot be found, in that case can be paid to those who are not the enemy of Ahlul Bait (AS).
