Your tears are as unique (and beautiful) as snowflakes

  • SHAFAQNA- Do you know what your tears look like at a microscopic level? Dutch artist Maurice Mikkers does, and he’s been looking at hundreds of them. It seems that our tears can be as unique as snowflakes, and have a similar crystallised look under a microscope. Mikkers was a lab technician before he went to art school, and has yet to find two tears that look alike. He’s also investigating how temperature, humidity, and even the cause of the crying can influence a tear’s structure. “[A] dark field microscope will light up the tear on a black background, so you can actually see the beautiful pattes and shapes,” Mikkers says in the Quartz video above. “I think tears are so unexplored. We need to figure out why.” There are three main types of tears: basal (or base) tears, that keep our eyes lubricated, reflex tears in response to irritation (like a speck in the eye or onions), and emotional tears (linked to a loss of emotional control, either through happiness or sadness, your tears are delicious, your tears are delicious meme, your tears are delicious gif, your tears are just temporary, your tears are so yummy, your tears are falling like snow lyrics, your tears are delicious pokemon, your tears are coming, your tears are touching god, your tears are falling like snow ...ادامه مطلب

  • Putin vs. Bilderberg: “Do you want another Cuban Missile Crisis?”

  • SHAFAQNA IN COLLABORATION WITH FORT RUSS – The most important information event of Friday was Vladimir Putin’s interview with Bloomberg, in which the Russian president touched on key issues on the global information agenda. I am sure that dozens of publications are going over this interview and discussing every question and answer in it, but I want to propose to you, dear friends, to look at this from a different angle. The point is that John Micklethwait, the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg who interviewed the Russian president, is not merely a joualist, but one of many joualists who has participated for many years in meetings of the Bilderberg Club as a full member of this shadow interest group whose opinions determine the policies of Weste countries. I think that this explains the unusual format of the interview and the fact that Vladimir Putin called Micklethwait a “specialist” and debated with him more like a politician than a joualist… If we look at the intervi, putin against bilderberg ...ادامه مطلب

  • Can you be a practising Muslim and identify with the Australian way of life?

  • SHAFAQNA – With growing conces over national security, and the increased threat of those wishing to divide us, there has been recent public discussion about the future of our immigration program, and whether the values and customs of some migrant groups have a place in the Australian way of life. Negative attitudes towards Muslims in Australia seem to be based on a fear of the unknown, and this perceived difference in values and culture. Attributes we typically identify as integral to the Australian way of life – like our freedom and democracy – are commonly perceived as being at odds with Islam. It raises an interesting question – can Australian Muslims maintain their customs and traditions but still embrace and identify with the Australian way of life? Scanlon report on social cohesion uncovers a multicultural nation with wide horizons that still wrestles with treatment of immigrants and Islam According to research released by the Scanlon Foundation last week, the ma,can you beatbox, can you be allergic to water, can you be allergic to weed, can you be allergic to the sun,can you be born, can you be my daddy, can you be addicted to weed, can you be allergic to,can you be born with hpv,can you become lactose intolerant ...ادامه مطلب

  • Tuberculosis can bequickly detected in developing countries

  • SHAFAQNA- Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the biggest scourges there is among infectious diseases, killing nearly 2 million people a year, most in developing countries. It is also notoriously hard and slow to detect in places without top-flight health care systems. Yesterday, researchers reported at the American Chemical Society (ACS) meeting here that they’ve devised a simple new way to diagnose TB, and even distinguish living TB cells from dead ones, which could give doctors an easy way to see whether their anti-TB medications are working. The researchers are now putting their diagnostic through its paces with samples from patients in South Africa, which has one of the world’s highest incidences of TB, and they hope to launch a clinical trial of their test soon. According to the World Health Organization, nearly 10 million people contract TB every year. That happens when someone infect, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Cancer drug extracted from rainforest berries ‘destroys woman’s tumour’ in DAYS

  • SHAFAQNA- An experimental cancer treatment based on rainforest berries has been successfully shown to destroy tumours in a matter of days. A drug based on the fruit of the Australian blushwood tree is currently undergoing trials in Queensland. Denise Powell, a cancer patient who is part of the trial, said the treatment had a radical effect on a tumour in her armpit.  “My cancer surgeon said, ‘I can take that one out, if you get any more you might lose an arm.” The blushwood tree, a rare species which grows in the Australian rainforest Denise said the drug had a visible and dramatic effect on her tumour The chemical inside the berries is called EBC-46 and has already been shown to shrink tumours in animals. But Denise was shocked to see how profound an effect it had when injected directly into the growth under her arm. “In less than 20 minutes the tumour had gone purple , ...ادامه مطلب

  • Who is your friend?

  • SHAFAQNA- Since the influence of friend of man is very deep, Islamic teachings have given an important status to the friendship. In Holy Quran it is stated that most of the companions of the Fire will say, in the Hell, that “Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter.” [1] So it is very important to know how your friend is.  In this regard, there is a very nice hadith in which Imam al-Baqir (PBUH) said: My father Ali Ibn al- Hussein (A), once, advised me: ‘O son, do not associate, talk, or accompany five classes of people.’ ‘Who are they, father?’ asked me, and he (A) answered: ‘Beware of associating with the liar, for he is as same as a mirage: he shows you the near as remote, and shows you the remote as near. Beware of associating with the sinful, for he ,who is your friend in spanish, who is your friend quiz, who is your friend dog,who is your friend oh god,who is your friend who is not worksheet, who is your friend quotes, who is your friend that likes to play, who is your friend in skyrim, who is your friend sermon, who is your friend of the month ...ادامه مطلب

  • #IllWalkWithYou: After New York shooting, people are offering to escort Muslims to their mosque

  • SHAFAQNA – Over the weekend, people tweeted an offer to their Muslim neighbors: #IllWalkWithYou. The hashtag spread quickly as Muslims around the country reeled from the news that two Muslim men were fatally shot blocks from their Queens mosque on Saturday afteoon. The murders of Imam Maulama Akonjee, 55, and his assistant Thara Uddin, 64, are under investigation. Although police have not determined a motive in the killings, the Muslim community feels strongly that the men were targeted because of their religion. They fear that the intensifying anti-Muslim rhetoric in the presidential campaign will only lead to more hate crimes. But in a remarkable show of solidarity, thousands of people around the country pushed back against such bigotry and vowed to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Muslims in their own communities. The hashtag was motivated by Australians, who tweeted #IllRid, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Shafaqna Exclusive Interview with Mayor of Cannes: David Lisnard

  • SHAFAQNA  – Following a series of violent attacks by militants whom have claimed to be loyal to Daesh, aka ISIL, France has been looking for effective counter-terror measures to protect both its citizens and its way of life. While many, most of all the French might have expected measures in tune with the gravity of the situation, David Lisnard, the mayor of Cannes (seaside Mediterranean town) chose to legislate over fashion to curb radicalism. Starting this August, Cannes will no longer allow for Muslim women to wear the burkini – Islamic swimsuit; a decision which officials have promised will help promote and protect France secular traditions. Shafaqna asked Mayor David Lisnard to elaborate on the ban. SHAFAQNA –  Mayor Lisnard would you mind explaining to our readers the reasoning behind such a ban? Why the burkini? And actually why such a desire to single out Muslim women? Are burkinis that offensive to French sensitivity that they had to be criminalise? MAYOR DAVID LISNA, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Nine things women can’t do in Saudi Arabia

  • SHAFAQNA – Saudi Arabia’s human rights record, especially with regards to protecting women, has often been called into question. Although women’s rights have been incrementally extended in recent years – they were allowed to vote in municipal elections for the first time last year – their actions are still severely restricted. In a country where a woman cannot even open a bank account without her husband’s permission, here are several other things they are still unable to do: Drive a car There is no official law that bans women from driving, but deeply held religious beliefs prohibit it, with Saudi clerics arguing that female drivers “undermine social values”. In 2011, the “Women2Drive” campaign encouraged women to disregard the laws and post images and videos of themselves driving on social media to raise awareness of the issue in an attempt to force change. It was not a major success.  Saudi joualist Talal Alharbi says women should be allowed to drive – but, ...ادامه مطلب

  • The Verdict about Intoxicants in Islam

  • SHAFAQNA- IntroductionThey ask you about intoxicants and games of chance. Say: In both of them there is a great sin and means of profit for men, and their sin is greater than their profit. And they ask you as to what they should spend. Say: What you can spare. Thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, that you may ponder.(Holy Qur’an, Sura al-Baqarah, 2: 219)O you who believe! intoxicants and games of chance and (sacrificing to) stones set up and (dividing by) arrows are only an uncleanness, the Shaitan’s work; shun it therefore that you may be successful. (Holy Qur’an, Sura al-Ma’idah, 5: 90)The Shaitan only desires to cause enmity and hatred to spring in your midst by means of intoxicants and games of chance, and to keep you off from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you then desist? (Holy Qur’an, Sura al-Ma’idah, 5: 91) The Verdict about Intoxicants in IslamAlthough so many books and articles have been published already about intoxicants which have been analyzed and discussed from various points of view, as the subject is so important due to its dangerous consequences, it was considered appropriate to make an overall survey of it in a brief manner, so that service could be rendered to the society and young Muslims prevented from getting involved with such dangerous alcoholic drinks.Interestingly enough there exists no difference of opinion among scholars conceing alcoholic beverages and their harmful effects. We have many convincing arguments at our disposal to prove this matter.Probably until a few years ago, some ignorant people supposed that if intoxicants were consumed moderately, they would not only be harmless but would also be useful. But owing to the researches carried out recently by a number of American and European scientists it was proved that no matter how little the amount of the intoxicants consumed, they are still harmful. We draw your attention to the following report which has been taken from an official source: Some tim, ...ادامه مطلب

As always our aim is simple – knowledge. In a world run, and based on falsehood, Truth has become somewhat of a rare commodity – still, we ought to seek what has been dissimulated as to rise truly free. As Imam Ali said: “Ask in order to understand, and do not ask in order to find fault, for surely the ignorant man who wants to lea resembles a man of knowledge, and surely a man of knowledge who wants to be difficult resembles an ignorant man who wants to find fault.” Following is the interview Catherine Shakdam, director of programs for the Shafaqna Institute of Middle Easte Studies conducted with Youssif al-Khoei. • URGENT – Ali Mohammed al-Nimr and other youths face immediate execution

  • SHAFAQNA – The Shafaqna Institute of Middle Easte Studies received worrying information pointing to the pending execution by beheading of Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, nephew to late Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr. A young Shia Muslim from the easte Saudi Arabian province of Qatif, Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, was, like many others, arrested on account his faith has long upset al-Saud royals. Accused of conspiracy against the king, Ali Mohammed al-Nimr never stood a chance … The victim of a viciously sectarian regime which sole existence has been to oppress religious minorities to better asset its own absolutism: Wahhabism, Saudi Arabia has been a grand scale concentration camp for Shia Muslims. Brutalized for their allegiance lies with the House of the Prophet Mohammed and not with that of al-Saud, Shia Muslims have long been labelled as apostates – infidels to be disposed of should they dare proclaim their right to be, and their right to freely exercise their faith. Activists close to the family of Ali Mohammed al-Nimr have waed that the regime is currently following the same patte of behaviour it did prior to Sheikh al-Nimr’s death. A report in the Inteational Business Times read this July 28: “A day before Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr was beheaded on New Year’s Day 2016, a Saudi-based Twitter account with more than 2.4 million followers announced that there were only a few hours left until the Shia cleric’s death sentence would be carried out. As Saudi Arabia does not announce executions in advance – even to the families of the accused – activists noted that @KSA24 must either be a state-controlled account or a govement insider.” And: “Activists have noted that the Twitter account has begun to tu its attention to Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, Sheikh Nimr’s nephew, who faces beheading and crucifixion after his conviction last year on a swathe of charges related to organising anti-govement protests. • How can I improve my spirituality and maintain closeness to Allah?

  • SHAFAQNA- Spiritual fluctuation is one of the characteristics of our hearts. Our soul is also called ‘Qalb’ (heart) because it changes from time to time, one day and on one occasion and under certain circumstances we may feel more spiritual, and then we may feel low. One of the main reasons for that is that our heart is like a metal and hell & heaven are like magnets attracting these metals. When we are in the magnetic field of Dunya (Satanic worldly fields) naturally our spirituality diminishes, and likewise when you are in the heavenly fields you feel more spiritual. Depending on how often and for how long we hold our hearts in the magnetic fields of Dunya or Akhira we develop a hell or heavenly nature, until it becomes our second nature. Then you become a magnet too; a magnet of heaven God willing, or God forbid a hellish magnet. Have you noticed when you sit with certain scholars or even read about them you feel more spiritual? That is because they have been so much in the magnetic field of Paradise that they have tued into another heavenly magnet attracting people to heaven and spirituality. The same applies to people who are hell-bound in this world. They too drag people to their own pitfall of hell. Now that we know the function of our hearts the remedy is in our hands: when you are in Hajj you feel more spiritual because you are in the central part of all spiritual magnets. You feel less spiritual in your hometown because you are surrounded by worldly materials which divert your attention from spirituality. What you need to do is to expose yourself more to spiritual magnets such as: 1. Build a personal and permanent relation with God: speak with God when you are driving, walking, doing your home duties, etc. Even speak loud to Him when no one is around. Do this every day until you get used to it. It doesn’t matter what you say, it’s the communication that matters. 2. Be more frequent and regular in attending spiritual gatherings, such as religious progra, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Manicures For All: Muslims Can Finally Wear Nail Polish With This Formula

  • SHAFAQNA- Within the Muslim religion, women are unable to wear nail polish due to the daily ritual of washing their hands, arms, and face before prayer. Because nail polish is a barrier to the nail, devout Muslims have not been allowed to wear the vaish, thus not being able to enjoy the fun of painting your nails! … until now. Orly Beauty has created a nail polish called Breathable, which is a three-in-one polish, including a base coat, the colored nail vaish, and a top coat. The polish is “breathable” and apparently healthy for your nails. I was introduced to this new formula at CosmoProf Las Vegas and I am obsessed. They have an advanced oxygen technology that allows oxygen and hydration to penetrate through your nails. Think of how a contact lens works over your eyes, the nail polish works the same way against your nails. The formula also includes argan oil, vitamin C, and vitamin B5. The nail polish provides moisture for your nails, while claiming to have a longer-lasting manicure. I got my nails done in Barely There and maybe due to how often I wash my hands or mess with my hair, my manicure chipped within the same amount of time as they normally do (a few days). However, the chip wasn’t as significant. The nail polish does, however, cut your manicure time in half. Nail polish that has given Muslim women the freedom to paint their nails, is healthy, and cuts your manicure time in half? I ordered two! Let's block ads! بخوانید, ...ادامه مطلب
