Obligation to perform Hajj by Ayatollah Sistani

  • SHAFAQNA- It is clear from the Holy Qur’an and the traditions that performance of Hajj (Pilgrimage) is obligatory on every person who has attained puberty and has the means mentioned below.Hajj is one of the basic principles of Islam; its performance is one of its essentials, and its non-performance is a grave sin. Denial of the obligatory nature of Hajj is blasphemy (kufr). Allah states in the Holy Qur’an, “.. and pilgrimage to the House is incumbent upon men for the sake of Allah, (upon) every one who is able to undertake the jouey to it; and whoever disbelieves, surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above any need of the worlds”. (3/97).Sheikh Kulayni has reported that Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said, “Whoever dies without having performed obligatory pilgrimage when he was not prevented by lack of means, illness, or force, dies a Jew or a Christian”. • Islamic Unity an Obligation

  • SHAFAQNA- Source:Islamic Unity, in the Light of Speeches of Ayatullah KhameneiCompiled by Hujatul Islam wal Muslimeen Ali Khaliqpur In the opinion of Ayatullah Ali Khamenei the issue of Unity of Muslims is the focal point of Islamic teachings and it should be considered as a religious obligation. In view of misappropriation of discrepancies and differences found amongst Muslims and exploitation of some preliminary religious laws and ordinances by the hands of imperialists and its steady expansion, the Supreme Leader deems it essential to bring the remedy of unity into existence. In fact, if we want to find any solution to the problems of the Islamic world or better to say, if we are making efforts for the dignity and honour of Islam and Quran and for restoration of its grace, then this thing isn’t in any way favourable and conducive with the differences of the Muslims. Imam Khomeini (R.A) continued this mission even before the success of revolution and highly recommended it and after the success of revolution, he put it in the top priority list of the issues.Although the Imperialists had already declared the policy of diversity and division in the top priorities of their objectives, but after the triumph of Islamic revolution and after the centre of Islamic unity came into existence, the activities based on divide and division by America and its allies got further expedited and accelerated. They made the Muslim brethren to fight each other and started ransack and massacre. In the whole Muslim world today the paid writers have made it their profession and strategy to create division among Muslims, spending treasure of wealth and petro dollars of allies of American reactionaries for this purpose. They now it very well that there is power of attraction in Islam and the centre of this revolution may attract the attention of all the Muslims of the world towards itself, therefore it has created a threat for America and Imperialism that their investment for creating division, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Is fulfilling one’s obligation part of the religion?

  • SHAFAQNA – According to Islam, the principles of morality are very important and are considered as part of the religion and the sign of wisdom. Therefore, the one, who does not commit to morality, is neither religious nor wise; it must be said that the one who does not fulfill his/her obligations, has no religion or wisdom. In Ayah 34 of Surah Al-Isra, Allah (SWT) commands the believers: “Fulfill your obligations because you will be accounted for (all) your obligations.” That is why the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said: The one who does not fulfill his/her obligations (contract, agreement, treaty, promise), has no religion [1]. • Russian Professor: Respecting Ahlul Bayt, a Religious Obligation for Sunni Muslims

  • SHAFAQNA –  Russian Ph.D. student of anthropology said, “Respecting Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.) is a religious duty for the Sunni Muslims and it is, as ordered by Qura’an and Ahl al-Bayt’s (A.S.) traditions (Hadiths), an Islamic obligation. There is no difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims”. This is his first visit from the Razavi Holy Shrine, Sha’ban Hafezof added, “Attending at this holy place, human’s mental and spiritual mood changes in a way which is cannot be described orally”. Saying that respecting Prophet’s family is a religious obligation for the Sunni Muslims, he affirmed, “I have traveled to many Muslim countries including Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, but no place has got Razavi Shrine’s vastness and spirituality”. Referring to the existing Islamic and Iranian architecture in all porticos and courtyards of the Razavi Holy Shrine, he added, “Elements of Islamic and Iranian architecture have now affected world’s architecture so that Russian architects take the advantage of Islamic architectures when they want to create historical buildings”. This Ph.D. student of anthropology at a Russian University recognized organization’s provisioned programs for non-Iranian pilgrims as very helpful and stressed, “Millions of pilgrims with different languages and cultures come to Razavi Holy Shrine from around the world”. He also said, “Holding such programs for non-Iranian pilgrims can help these foreigners to know this place and its various activities and sections better”. “Today’s enemies of Islam try to make, by having negative propagations, conflicts between Shiites and Sunnis. Therefore, Sunni and Shiite Muslims must make connection and negotiate with each other, having no mediates”, Hafezof added. Saying that this is his third visit to the Razavi Holy Shrine, Asva Ouva, another member of this group, said, “I have become refreshed and also gotten lots of energy, whenever I’ve come to this holy place”.
